About Me

My name is Alhussain Almarhabi. I have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology (SIT). I officially graduated from Stevens after defending my dissertation on Dec. 2022. I came to the USA in late 2016, where I spent enough time studying the English Language, preparing for the IELTS exam, and the GRE in Boston, Massachusets (also a lot of time pronouncing Massachusets!.) In 2017, I started my Master's program at the SIT in electrical engineering (signal processing) and obtained data engineering certification. 2019 was my first year for me in the Ph.D. program.

Why Electrical Engineering?

I remember vividly in my last year when one of my high school friends asked me what I wanted to specialize in at university. My answer was, you guessed it, Electrical Engineering. The main reason was from childhood when my father bought a windows 98 personal computer (PC) for my brother early 2000s. I was very young and could not use it except with supervision. However, long story short, I wanted to be one of the people who created that PC.

Many people think of an electrical engineer as a technician that replaces bulb lights or connects cables, but it is beyond that. An electrical engineer can manipulate high voltage power, design printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronics, program hardware, and program software. Many majors are now known as standalone, but it actually emerges from electrical engineering, such as software engineering, computer science, network engineering, hardware engineering, and power engineering. You cannot count it on hand.

My Intrest

I am interested in artificial intelligence, including machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing. And also, Data and Electrical Engineering, including electronic, communications, and signal processing. The concept of the Internet of Things (IoT), Mixed Reality (augmented and virtual.)

Hobbies

I like watching and playing sports (Football, Tennis, Basketball, etc.). I do enjoy watching Japanese anime and reading Manga. I do read a wide range of book genera. However, I love the self-motivation ones. Self-development books keep me up with my dreams and pull me from the procrastination swamp.

Current

I just finished my Ph.D. in electrical engineering for a topic related to applied machine learning and deep learning.

Future

I'm currently looking for full-time, part-time, or internship job opportunities in machine learning, research-oriented, or software engineering.
